Diocesan Team Meets with Bishop of Bendigo - 17 January 2017

January 18th, 2017

A diocesan team led by Bishop Kay Goldsworthy met with the Bishop of Bendigo, Bishop Andrew Curnow (above), the Registrar and a member of the Diocesan Executive at St Mary’s Woodend on Tuesday 17 January 2017. With Bishop Kay was the Hon. Robert Fordham, Mr Philip Davis, Archdeacon Edie Ashley, Ms Rowena Armstrong and Brian Norris, all members of the Gippsland Bishop-in-Council. The purpose of the meeting was to hear about the innovative governance arrangements introduced by the Diocese of Bendigo in 2005. These arrangements are principally based around an Executive of Bishop-in-Council that manages the day-to day affairs of the Diocese. In addition, the Diocese uses a number of people with significant business knowledge and skills on its various committees. The Diocese of Gippsland is currently reviewing its governance arrangements and the conversation with Bendigo was part of the information gathering process for this review.
