Reconciliation Week Eucharist, Lake Tyers

EVENT DATE: June 2nd, 2024

Deepen your commitment to reconciliation

To mark National Reconciliation Week (NRW), people from all communities of Gippsland are invited to attend eucharist services on 2nd June led by Aboriginal Priests The Revd Canon Aunty Phyllis Andy or The Revd Kathy Dalton.

Reconciliation Australia says that NRW “is a time to for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.” It occurs annually from 27th May to 3rd June, reminding us of the historic events of the 1967 Referendum and the High Court Mabo decision, which occurred on those respective dates. www.reconciliation.org.au

People can also use NRW as a time for self-directed deeper learning and steps towards reconciliation. This year’s theme is “Now More Than Ever.”
